Tom Bean Volunteer Fire Department Acquires New Equipment

Thanks to a couple of the council members and a local benefit, the city was able to provide a $1,000 donation to our Tom Bean Volunteer Fire Department, allowing them to replace a more than 20-year-old piece of equipment, a thermal image camera (TIC). These handheld devices display crisp thermal images, helping firefighters attack fires more strategically, maneuver through smoke more easily, and save lives.

Donations always welcome to help buy and maintain equipment. The department’s budget is just $25,000 for the entire year, and this barely covers operating costs such as insurance, fuel, loan payment, etc.

Donations can be sent to: Tom Bean Volunteer Firefighters Inc. P.O. Box 58 Tom Bean, TX 75489. Read more about the department and how you can make a difference.
