Exciting Developments in Tom Bean!

We’re thrilled to share some incredible accomplishments from the Tom Bean Type B Economic Development Board! Take a look at the amazing projects completed that are enhancing our community:

๐ŸŒณ Beautification Efforts:

  • Planted trees in the median between Garner St. and Hwy. 11, adding greenery and charm to our streets.

๐Ÿ’ก Improving Safety and Visibility:

  • Installed eight streetlights along Hwy 11 between Lyon and Brown, ensuring safer travels for residents and visitors alike.

๐Ÿž๏ธ Enhanced Public Spaces:

  • Built the stunning Pavilion on Britton across from the Post Office, complete with landscaping and benches for relaxation and community gatherings.
  • Added a large shade tree to the Pavilion, providing much-needed relief during sunny days.

๐Ÿ“œ Preserving History:

  • Restored an old City historical marker, preserving our heritage, and placed it in Pavilion Park for all to admire.

๐Ÿšธ Improved Wayfinding:

  • Installed a Directional Sign on Britten at Hwy 11, guiding residents and visitors to key locations like schools, City Hall, and the Library.

๐Ÿž๏ธ Investing in Recreation:

  • Purchased land on Bonham St. and Randolph St. for a future park, ensuring more recreational spaces for everyone to enjoy.
  • Upgraded City Park with modern commercial-grade childrenโ€™s play equipment, making it a fun and safe destination for families.
  • Refurbished the basketball court with new commercial basketball goals and striping for basketball and pickleball enthusiasts.
  • Installed a rock wall around two sides of the park, adding aesthetic appeal and providing seating options for park-goers.
