About Tom Bean Police Patrol Unit

The patrol unit is the most visible and recognizable unit of the police department. Patrol Officers are the first elements of intervention in most Law Enforcement activities. They respond to all calls for service and are responsible for original offense reports and field investigations.

Patrol Officers enforce the laws of the State of Texas as well as Tom Bean Municipal ordinances, and share concurrent jurisdiction with both the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office and the Texas Department of Public Safety.

The patrol unit routinely responds to a wide array of requests for service from citizens such as investigating suspicious activity or responding when life, health, or property is threatened.

The patrol unit is actively involved and engaged with Tom Bean ISD, helping to provide a safe environment for our students. Patrol is the most visible aspect of our Police Department and has the most contact with the citizens.

Although issuing tickets and making arrests are part of assigned responsibilities, they also assist when children go missing, someone is injured in an automobile accident, or otherwise needs a helping hand. The Patrol Unit exists to serve and protect and its members take pride in the fact that the City of Tom Bean has a well-trained and professional Police Department.
