The court accepts cash, personal/business checks, cashier’s checks, money orders and credit/debit cards ($5.00 fee will apply to credit/debit cards under $200 and 2.5% to payments above $201)

Administrative Dismissals

If you received a citation for an expired driver’s license, or expired registration and meet the following terms it is up to the Judge whether to dismiss your case if you have the following items:

  1. Renew the defect and present to the court before appearance date written on your citation
  2. Pay the $20.00 administrative dismissal fee

Liability Insurance Violations

If you received a citation for no insurance, your insurance ticket will be dismissed if you have your insurance provider fax/mail/email proof of your insurance as required by law for the date and time you received your citation. The name of the person that received the ticket and the ticket number should be included in the proof provided.

We will not accept faxes for Expired License, No License, Registration or for proof of Insurance.

Payment Plan

A plea of guilty or no contest is required. You must be prepared to make the first payment when setting up the payment plan. You must contact the court for more information and to receive approval.

There will be a time payment fee of $25.00 added to all violation(s) with payments made after the 31st day of judgment.

Indigent

If you are convicted of an offense and are unable to pay the fine and court cost, you may have the court assess your ability to pay.

In order for the court to consider your request for indigent you must fill out an Indigent waiver and present that to the court along with the supporting documents to prove that in fact, you are indigent.

Once all required paperwork has been submitted to the court; the case will be set on the docket for the judge to review. At that time the judge will either grant or deny the request. If you are denied the judge will move forward with a payment plan or community service.

Community Service

If you are convicted of an offense and are unable to pay the fine and court cost, you may have the court assess your ability to pay.

In order for the court to consider your request for community service, you must fill out a community service waiver and present that to the court along with the supporting documents to prove that in fact you are unable to pay but can work the fines and fees off by means of community service.

Once all required paperwork has been submitted to the court; the case will be set on the docket for the judge to review. At that time the judge will either grant or deny the request for community service. If the judge grants the community service will be advised on acceptable avenues to complete the hours ordered.

Community service will be completed by working within the City of Tom Bean or with other nonprofit organization approved by the court.

NOTICE OF ALTERNATIVES TO FULL PAYMENT OF FINES OR COSTS:

If you are convicted of an offense and are unable to pay the fine and court cost, you may have the court assess your ability to pay and the court may provide alternatives to full payment to satisfying the judgment.
