Appearance
The law requires you to make an appearance on your case. Your appearance date is written on the bottom of your citation and you may appear at any time on or before that date and time. A phone call does not constitute an appearance.
The court office maintains standing judicial orders that may allow you to dispose of your case without appearing at an official arraignment. If you have any questions concerning the status of your case, please call the court office at 903-546-3012.
Minors and Juveniles:
Juvenile: 16 yrs. of age and under
A juvenile must appear in person with a parent or guardian. The parent or guardian must contact the court for a scheduled court date with the Judge.
Minors: 17 to 20 yrs. of age
Minors must appear in person for statue offenses only and may have to have a parent or guardian present. Status offenses are described as an offense that relates to the age of the defendant.
Status offenses include:
- All alcohol-related violations
- All tobacco-related offenses
- All violations for those who are 16 years and younger
