Type B EDC Plans Rock Wall and Fencing for City Park

Tom Bean’s Type B EDC Board of Directors has decided to fund up to $65,000 to build a rock wall around the new City Park. The purpose of the wall is to provide a safety barrier between the children playing at the park and the adjacent traffic.  We have chosen a rock wall due to its durability and cosmetic appeal in addition to adding seating for park patrons. Pickleball Courts Now Available in Tom Bean

Tom Bean’s Type Type B Economic Development Corporation funded the re-striping of the basketball court for both basketball and, for the first time, pickleball. The Type B EDC is funded by sales tax. The EDC’s mission is: To encourage and promote economic growth and viability in the area of Tom Bean to afford opportunities for the residents, enhance their lives and experience and increase their value of living.

New Playground Equipment Installed

A new playground is now available in the City Park including slides, swings, a climbing wall, new basketball goals, and much more! This is a work in progress and more features are on the way. This project was made possible by the Type B Board and will serve the community well for many years to come. The park is located behind the First Baptist Church, on the corner of Bonham St. and Randolph St.

New Signs Welcome Visitors on Highway 11

Thanks to the Tom Bean Economic Development Corporation (EDC Type B), drivers entering the City of Tom Bean on Highway 11 from the east and west will see brand new welcome signs. The new signs are mounted with brick and stone masonry and read: “Welcome to Tom Bean, Texas: A Touch of Heaven on Highway 11.” The old signs were due for replacement as they had become weather-worn. Tillett Construction did the installation.

Tom Bean Type B Economic Development Corporation Funds New Park

The Tom Bean Type B Economic Development Corporation announces the purchase of land for a new park for the City of Tom Bean. The land is located at 206 Bonham St. and was purchased from the First Baptist Church in Tom Bean. Closing was today at Red River Title in Anna. We have worked on this project for quite some time, and planning for a new park for all in Tom Bean to enjoy will be underway soon.

New Tom Bean Directional Signs

Look out for the new Tom Bean directional sign that was installed off HWY 11 and Britton St. The project was funded by The Tom Bean Economic Development Corporation, Type B. The sign will make the city more accessible and inviting to all, directing the public, especially visitors from HWY 11, to the community’s downtown amenities as well as our schools.
