Tom Bean Monument Restoration Complete!

Back in January 2014, Mayor Sherry E. Howard started the project of restoring the Tom Bean Monument after visiting Willow Wild Cemetery in Bonham and seeing first hand the shape it was in due to the shifting of the ground over many years. The citizens were asked for fundraising ideas to start getting the needed money to level the monument. In 2016, Chloe Battles, a sophomore at TBISD approached Mayor Howard and wanted to help with this effort and make it her community service project. Chloe set up a GOFUNDME account and collected $714.79, raised $161 at the annual Halloween …

Tom Bean’s Hay Bale Art

At Tom Bean City Hall, we are known for our displays of hay bale art celebrating holidays, advertising events, or just thanking our troops. In 2018-2019, we have been blessed to have two of our TB senior art students volunteer to keep our city hall hay bales painted for the different seasons/occasions: Miss Faith Norton and Miss Kristen Dickison along with their art teacher Ms. Katherine. Tom Bean Police Department Awarded State Grant

Police Chief Tim Green is pleased to share this exciting news: When I was hired to be Chief of Police with this organization in 2017, I was tasked with improving the operations of the police department. After an in-depth evaluation, we were able to determine that the internal network systems being utilized for the collection and storage of police records and information was significantly outdated, and in desperate need of being upgraded. When I first raised these issues with Mayor Howard, and we began looking into what the cost of the needed upgrades was going to be, we both concluded …

Texas-New Mexico Power Selects Tom Bean as Community Project

Tom Bean was selected by TNMP as their community project for this year. The wastewater plant lighting had been inoperable for many years due to wiring issues and burned out bulbs. TNMP came out, rewired some fixtures and replaced all burned out bulbs for us. All seven poles are now functioning which is a huge safety benefit for the city. THANK YOU TNMP and Barry Bonds for helping our City!
